Intro to North Dakota
NEW this year, the perfect way for students new to my location workshops to get all you will need for success in the Celebrating North Dakota workshop.
This workshop is for the beginner or uncertain photographer who wants to take a location workshop but is afraid they don’t have the skills. We will cover the basics of Lightroom so you can capture, import, catalogue, edit, export and print your images. There will be location shooting as well the work in the digital darkroom. Students should have some basic camera knowledge, but we will work with you on setting up Lightroom, and making it work for you.
In addition we can cover camera handling, camera controls, composition, tripod use, on camera flash, ideas for working successfully on location and strategies for sharing your work with a group.
You will need a digital camera, DSLR or mirror-less, laptop computer with the Lightroom program installed, memory cards for your camera and a card reader. A tripod is helpful but not essential. Extra batteries, charging cables, extra memory cards and any other equipment you will need for your camera are a must as this is a very rural area and you won’t be able to obtain such items locally.
By taking this weekend workshop you should have everything you need to be off and running to a successful week of exploring the variety of locations we will have available. I hope you will take a chance on this head start for the week. You will not regret it!
Participants are responsible for lodging, meals and transportation. The workshop begins on Thursday, August 16th at 6 p.m. and ends with dinner on Saturday, August 18th.
